Prof. Krishnamoorthy honored for advances in next generation electronic materials

Saturday, March 19, 2022

Prof. Sriram Krishnamoorthy has received the "Most Valuable Presentation" at the Workshop on Compound Semiconductor Materials & Devices (WOCSEMMAD) 2022. WOCSEMMAD is a premier workshop in the US on high performance electronic materials.

His presentation was on "Advances in Epitaxial Gallium (Aluminum) Oxide Thin Films and Heterostructure Materials and Devices" and reported his latest advances including the first demonstration of a 2D electron gas in gallium oxide Ga2O3 grown by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MO-CVD) along with high electrical breakdown strength devices. Gallium oxide is a candidate material for next generation power electronic devices that are critical for applications ranging from electric cars to power management in the electrical grid.

The Department appreciates this recognition of Prof. Krishanmoorthy’s work and is excited for his new laboratory on campus.
