Research interests are in theory of condensed matter physics in such diverse areas as magnetism, superconductivity, liquid crystals, and organic conductors. Present activities are in soft condensed matter, particularly on problems associated with biopolymers and bio-membranes, including Coulomb effects in biomolecular assemblies, hydrogen bonding networks and polyelectrolyte complexes.
