Current research interest centers on low-temperature chemical synthesis of epitaxial thin films (such as semiconducting ZnO) as well as methods for reducing dislocation densities (accomplished by substrate growth windows that promote lateral epitaxial overgrowth). Other interests include design of microstructures with high toughness and colloidal methods for net-shape forming of ceramics.
