Research activities focus on polymer thin films and interfaces. Current emphasis is on: characterization of films by depth profiling and microscopic imaging methods; deformation and fracture of block copolymers and polymer interfaces (from both micromechanical and molecular viewpoints); kinetics of grafting reactions and instabilities at polymer melt interfaces; ordering of block copolymer films as templated by interfacial interactions; and controlled incorporation of inorganic nanoparticles.
