Having won the 2000 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Heeger is the renowned pioneer of semiconducting polymers. Current research interests include transport, light emission (both photoluminescence and electroluminescence) and applications to solar cells. Research focuses on issues related to fundamental electronic structure of semiconducting polymers and their use in electronic and optoelectronic devices.
